Is it legal to remove bats in your state?
Bats are protected in most places and exclusion is timed around maternity season. We work within those rules, which sometimes means waiting until the young can fly before the colony is sealed out.
Do you kill the bats?
No. Exclusion uses one-way valves that let bats leave and prevent re-entry. The colony relocates to a natural roost and the building is sealed behind them.
Why can you not just seal it now?
If flightless pups are inside, sealing traps them. They die in the wall cavity, which gives you an odour problem, an insect problem and a distressed colony trying to chew back in.
Is bat guano dangerous?
Accumulated guano can support a fungus that causes respiratory illness when spores are disturbed. That is why cleanup uses containment and protective equipment rather than a shop vacuum.
What if there is a single bat inside my house?
